Aladdin Premiere with Ashley DuBose & Friends

Donation protected
Hey Friends!

Aladdin with Friends was dreamt up by the Ashley DuBose and Tek, the organizers, after a Facebook discussion about attending movies by themselves at the theater. It turned into an opportunity for youth of underprivileged communities, as well as those of us who love the classic movie Aladdin, to watch the movie together while highlighting suicide prevention and awareness.

Aladdin with Friends  will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 6:30pm at Showplace ICON Theater in St. Louis Park, MN.

The charitable component of this event is to provide a fun and memorable low-to-no cost movie viewing experience for underprivileged and underserved youth community members of the Twin Cities and their families. Organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Jeremiah Program, Youth Lens 360, SAFE, Project DIVA, and the North Community YMCA, will be among the 70 that receive the reserved free tickets to this advance prescreening of the 2019 remake of one of Disney’s most classic motion pictures. 100 tickets will be made available for purchase by the general public.

This GoFundMe campaign has been created to request your financial support, of any dollar amount, to help cover the costs of this event. The fundraising goal of this effort is $5000 ($1250 has already been raised outside of GoFundMe) which will cover the 170-seat theater rental, gift bags and contents, concessions for all attendees, transportation (as needed) for attendees to and from the event, and other event-related expenses.

Cash donations will be accepted at the door, the proceeds of which will go in full to Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE) on behalf of 13-year-old “Buggy” who ended her life earlier this year by suicide. Her father, Rico Burch is a co-organizer of the movie premiere event at which we will remember Buggy and highlight the importance of suicide awareness and prevention.

Thank you for you time and consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

Ashley and Tek
