Help Save Honey!
$4,419 of $5,000 goal
Dani's dog, Honey, made a daring escape on Monday night -- they found her Tuesday afternoon, hit by a car and seriously injured.
With a dislocated leg and a broken jaw, the veterinary bills are already starting to pile in. They need $3500 upfront just to start working on Honey. That doesn't even begin to cover the cost of impending surgeries, overnight stays, and veterinary care.
Any amount will help! $1, $10, $20, $50! Please make a contribution and send prayers and positive vibes! Come together and help us bring Honey home!
Wow! I am astonished and overjoyed at the amount of people that came together so quickly to help Honey! And I'm most happy to announce that Honey is home, recovering from her surgeries, and is in good spirits! There will be a few more visits and xrays in the near future, but we're out of the woods for surgeries!
Dani, Honey, and I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! To every single person that shared and donated - we couldn't have done this without you! 160 people came together to raise $4,419 towards our $5,000 goal! A huge thank you to Bandit's Bandaid for coming forward with a deposit so Dani didn't have to postpone the initial surgeries for Honey. With the funds from this campaign, Dani has been able to pay back 90% of the deposit and all of the surgeries. The only expenses left are follow up visits and xrays!
We are only $581 away from our goal but we'll be ending the gofundme campaign today -- Honey is home and our hearts are full! Without every one of you, we simply could not have done it! Honey, Dani, and I thank you all so very much!
Honey came home from the hospital yesterday! Look at this sweet little baby! I love her so much and we couldn't have done it without all of y'all's donations, shares and prayers! Thank y'all so much!!!
Surgery went well! The first thing they fixed was her arm. They were able to pop it back into place, but because corgis have such little legs, the surgeon wasn't sure if it would stay on its own. He went back and worked with her leg some more, making sure there was no sign of blood clots. She was made a custom splint and has to wear it for 8 weeks! Poor baby!
Her lower part of her jaw was able to be saved and he was able to wire it back together. He discovered that one of her K9 teeth was really messed up when she was hit and it might have to be removed further down the road. He is hoping that the tooth will heal itself.
I am still waiting on the final quote on how much the surgery/board is going to be, but it is going to be on the lower end of the initial surgery quote, thank God. We weren't allowed to see her today either because she needed her rest, but she will be coming home either tomorrow or Saturday.
Thank you for all of your prayers, donations, thoughts, and concerns. It's been a rough 3 days and I've basically done this all by myself, besides Jennifer Morrisey who stared the gofundme, and Bandit's Bandaid, who donated the rest of the emergency funds incase they had go open up her little arm and do a more extensive surgery. Y'all are amazing!
Please continue to donate and share for Honey! We are so close to our goal, thanks to all of y'all! She will need multiple follow up visits, x-rays, etc. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart! Honey is a fighter and we love her so much! Thank you for helping me help her!
I had a request to add the specific amount required for surgery. Dani doesn't have an exact number yet for the total veterinary costs -- as with every ongoing, emergency medical situation (pets and people) the cost of medical bills change with every surgery and every update from the surgeon -- but I assure you that I will post the final amount so that you know every single dollar we receive is going directly to pay Honey's vet bills!
In the mean time, thank you all so much for your donations!! The support is overwhelming and it is so comforting knowing that so many people are coming together to help Honey! God bless you all!
