Help for Harley

Donation protected
Many of you have met Harley over the last 8 years whether it be at car shows, local events, or just out walking. She isn't a dog you forget easily though with her being so big.

Not everyone is aware but on Tuesday night at 2am we were woken to the sound of Harley being sick. I thought it was just something she had eaten or something, but her tummy was super bloated and she was drooling everywhere. That wasn't normal for her and it looked like bloat so i called the only open night vet i could find and took her there straight away. It was confirmed there as bloat and they would operate on her through the night.
Over the course of the tests they did we also discovered that she suffers from kidney problems which is why she drinks so much all the time, i suspect she may have always had this her whole life if i am honest. This worried the vet about her having an operation and anesthetic though as it increased the risks and as statistics go, she is an old dog for a great Dane. Anyway we went ahead and when i got the call at 7.30am to say she had woken up the relief was huge. She has been at the vets until last night (Thursday) when i collected her. She doesn't do well without me, and i am the same without her so i thought it would be best for her to be home. The vet had said the previous night she had been awake and whining all night without me. She settled very quick once home and seemed very tired.

I wouldn't usually ask for help as i like to try and do everything on my own, but i am asking for any help and any spare ££ people can give would be massively appreciated. To explain a little more, so 6 months ago i moved into my own place, my first house that i have bought myself. It needed a lot of work and in 6 months so much has been achieved to make it a lovely home for Harley and me. But it also means that any savings i had are now gone and i need to start again with that pot now we are settled in and nearly finished on the renovations. Did you not have pet insurance i hear you ask. Well i have had before with her, but currently my situation did not allow me to pay the £120 a month that it costs to have a pet insurance for her with the moving house, so no i didn't. The cost for the surgery and all aftercare has so far come in at £4100. I have currently added this to my credit card which isn't ideal as i have no idea yet how i shall pay this off. I will get another job or sell my soul if i have too though as Harley is worth it to me. Anything spare people can help with that help me with this would be so helpful to get me back on my feet.

I shall keep everyone updated, but she seems to be doing well as she got on the bed this morning which must mean she is feeling better.
