Lupe Martinez Memorial Fund
Our mother and grandma, Lupe Martinez Ahumada, is a great and respectable woman. All through tough times she always instilled the value of family in her heart in all of her children and grandchildren. Every time anyone would show up at her home, she would always welcome them in to be part of the family.
She was born on January 5, 1943 in Fresno, California. When she was 7, her mother passed away. Her younger brother also passed away in the same month. Lupe was raised in orphanage homes from a very young age. Years passed and she was then taken in by a convent home located in Los Angeles.
As a young teenager, she was transitioned to other orphanage homes in Santa Ana and Fullerton in Orange County. She attended Fullerton High School. During this time, she was meeting family members that she never met. She was welcomed in by all and showed the love and respect back to everyone. Our mother and grandmother has 8 children: 5 boys and 3 girls. Sadly, one of her children passed away of crib death. She has a total of 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
With the big heart that she had full of love for everyone including those that weren't family, she always welcomed everyone. Our mother and grandmother never judged anyone and there was no favorite as we were all equal in her eyes. After surviving 3 bypass, surgeries, our mother and grandmother was handed COPD, multiple aortic abdominal aneurysms and her aorta is about to rupture with a thickness of 5.5 mm. This is non-repairable due to her COPD, and doctors say she will not survive. She was admitted into Corona Regional Medical Center on Monday, January 16, 2017. After a week of recovering in ICU she was released to Home Hospice. On Tuesday, January 24th we received notice from her doctor that she is on limited time and to be prepared for at most 2 weeks of time.
