I am Cory. I was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.
At birth the Doctors told my mother that I would never live past the age of 19.
Every day is the battle of my life, literally. I fight to breathe with every single breath. I have defied the odds all of my life -- But this is a progressive disease that has taken it's toll on me. I will continue fighting, but now I am in need of your help!
I am currently undergoing the process to get Lung Transplants. I daydream of the moment I get my new lungs and am able to breathe in a full breath of fresh air! Or maybe even just be able to walk with my family at the park again! Or perhaps just the chance to enjoy this gift of life for a few more years.
Unfortunately Lung Transplants are very expensive -- And it is recommended that patients set aside $10,000 to cover the various costs involved, including major medicines that are REQUIRED after the transplant. There is also the issue of Co-Pays and Deductibles. In short, $10,000 is the bare minimum I need to help cover all the costs of the transplant.
This is a dire situation. I need these funds to continue living; There is nothing frivolous about this, all of the funds will go towards me continuing my ability to survive.
