Luna's Emergency Spay

Donation protected

In February I moved to South Korea, and that June I took in Luna, my little black cat who was found on the streets in Gwangju.  Fast forward to August, and Luna had given birth to five kittens--turns out she was pregnant when I took her in.  I managed to find homes for three of her kittens, one passed away, and the last, Momo, is still with me as we wait to bring him to his new home in Boryeong.

I've avoided having Luna spayed after giving birth since she was still nursing (even at over four months Momo nurses for comfort).  And the cost of care and supplies for five kittens cut into the approximately 400,000 KRW (ETA: I've booked a surgery with a quote of 350,000 KRW :) ) it costs to have a cat spayed here.

I figured I would be okay since I live in an enclosed apartment and the kittens were young.  However I discovered Momo, who is male, mounting Luna who is currently in heat.  I have no guarantee Momo has hit puberty yet, but he has shown some signs of maturity and only once is enough (and who knows if this has happened while I was at work.) Basically animal kingdom at it's most swear-inducing.  I cannot afford another litter, and it's been hard enough finding homes for this group of four.  Cats are not a very popular pet among Koreans, and for the expat community it can be logistically challenging to house and bring home pets.

The funding goal will go exclusively towards cost of consult, surgery, housing Luna post-surgery for her recovery, and taxi to commute across numerous times to the lowest-cost English speaking vet I've been able to find in the city.  I would so desperately appreciate any help with these costs, because Luna needs to be spayed very soon in the event that mating was successful.  (Often spay + abort is a higher cost procedure).  I must book and pay for it within the next few weeks.  The goal is set at ~1/2 the price (with conversion).  I knew when I got Luna that this was a cost I would need to account for, but one thing after another (kittens, supplies, special food, special cages, etc.) cropped up and I hadn't planned on paying for it this soon.  It has been so stressful raising these kittens and finding them homes, and I can't go through this again so close to finally having found a home for Momo :(
