Luellen's Funeral & Memorial

Donation protected
Hi family, friends, and loved ones:

As most of you know, the world lost a beautiful soul early last week.  Luellen's heroic battle with cancer has come to an end, and she is no longer struggling and is now in peace at the young age of 49.  Lu was first diagnosed with APL (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia) back in 2007.  She courageously battled the disease for nearly 7 years.  Constantly in and out of the hospital for chemo treatments, appointments, etc. In December 2013 she was in remission and became cancer free and things started to look up.  But 4 months later in April 2014 she discovered she was diagnosed with AML (Acute Meyloid Leukemia).   Lu underwent the grueling process of battling once again.

In August of 2014, Luellen had a Bone Marrow Transplant, which proved to be successful.  Things went surprisingly smooth, but just under 1 year later, she came down with bronchitis which caused Graft Versus Host disease in her lungs.  She then battled GVH disease for the next year doing ECP (Extracorporeal Photopheresis) treatments 3 times a week in Dartmouth. The treatments were unable to completely heal the GVHD, leaving her immunosuppressed and allowing her Leukemia blasts to resurface. After 9 1/2 years of triumphant battling, Lu’s body was exhausted and could not continue treatments, her lungs and immune system was too tired to receive a lung transplant and there were no more options.

Lu Lu peacefully passed on November 28th. She was the most courageous and happy spirited individual that you will ever meet. She always had a smile on her face and LOVED life.  Lu leaves behind 3 children, Quinn, Peter, and Madison.

As you all know, the passing of a loved one is mentally, physically and emotionally draining.  Not only that, but they are also a huge financial burden.  The cost of the funeral alone is nearly $4,000 I am writing to you today to ask (only if you can!) to help the family with the cost of the funeral, memorial and other financial issues.

Quinn has taken on the majority of the financial expenses and could use some support from the community, and local loved ones.  Quinn left college early in 2014 to move up from Boston and take care of her mother through these incredibly tough times.  Quinn, Peter and Madison loved her mother more than words can describe, Lu was so proud of her children and supported all they did.

So today I ask, if you can, please make a contribution.

Here is a song written for Lulu from our good friend called Novemeber Skies:

Some people think,
That I’m insane.
Because I keep on walking,
through the pouring rain.
If they understood,
If they only knew
Can’t stop my heart
From loving you.

We walk the valley
We climb the hill
We got the strength And we got the will
Just like circles
They never end
On my love, you can depend

Everyday a journey
Down the road we go
Everyday a mirror of the love we saw
Gonna make it through
What comes our way
Wake each morning
To a brand new day

I see my baby
In the morning light
Wrap my arms around her
Gonna hold her tight
We’ll go walking
In the sun and rain
And we’ll sing
Sweet loves refrain

They can take my legs
Thinking I won’t walk
They can take my mouth
Thinking I won’t talk
It don’t matter
They can take my eyes
I will always see
November Skies
