Hi, guys! My name is Ishmael Ilagan and I am an extreme animal lover, with 3 beautiful dogs of my own.
Sadly, yesterday, while I was walking with one of my clients, I stumbled upon a very bubbly and carefree senior female maltese. She walked up to me and immediately greeted me with kisses. Needless to say, I fell in love with her instantly.
I took her with me and as much as I was in love with her and wanted to keep her, I knew, as a pet owner myself that I would be in distraught if I had lost one of my babies so I took her to the vet to get her checked for a microchip.
Upon arriving at the vet, the vet informed me that she DID in fact have a chip and belonged to someone. It was a bitter-sweet moment for me but I was happy for her that she would be reunited with her owner.
However, upon calling her owner, the owner did not seem to want her back and had told us that she always runs away from home. The vet did a quick check up on her and immediately found two large tumours and a hernia on her belly region. It had been there for a very long time and was never treated. I'm not one to judge but this is selfish on the owner's part and the poor girl doesn't deserve this current life just because of his lack of responsibility.
We asked him to pick him up today but he never came around to pick her up. I decided to keep her and change her name from "Buffy" to "Lucky". New name that aptly suits her new life.
I wish to get all her vet needs taken care of but unfortunately it will cost way too much for us outright. I am hoping to raise $2500 for her which will cover the regular vet check ups until she's completely healed, operation to remove all the lumps and hernia, desexing, vaccinations, eye surgery and all other treatments needed.
Any amount of donations would be very much appreciated so please, if you can spare a few dollars, it would really help to give Lucky the much needed care and lifestyle she deserves.
