As new business owners of NY Bagel Cafe' & Deli located at 7500 Ramble Way suite 111 (near the new Sheetz on 401), my husband and I love serving our family, friends and community.   As many of you know we had a rough start getting our business off the ground from finding a location, after being blocked from our first choice, having multiple issues with the city and permits, delaying our opening for months which was very costly. We have been playing catch up for some time now and have managed to make things work, barely. However, due to unforeseen variables, such as major issues and costly repairs to a pre-existing HVAC unit we inherited (came with the location) and the fact that our cooler failed two months into our opening. Not to mention the various unforeseen weather events (hurricane Florence and Michael) which had an adverse effect on sales when we were just making enough daily sales to sustain and pay rent, payroll, and our vendors, who we were behind on to begin with. We now find ourselves at a point that without a little help from our friends, family, and community we might lose what we fought so hard to build from the ground up. We are finally starting to turn the corner as we complete our first year of business this February (2019) however, without a little financial input we might possibly go under before reaching that milestone.
