Help me produce local theatre!
My name is Lucas Sherman. I am a professional musical director and pianist based in Northern California. Musical theatre is an amazing form of entertainment that brings an entire community together and introduces them to a story through beautiful music. The Sonoma County musical theatre scene, while very diverse and accessible, often does not do modern shows. These shows appeal to a younger audience and I feel are a much needed addition.
I will be producing a newer work called Songs for A New World by composer Jason Robert Brown. It will be performing at Spreckels Performing Arts Center in Rohnert Park, CA in the black box space. It has some of the most beautiful music in theatre and will be accompanied by a rock trio band on stage. The goal is to do the show April, 2017.

Composer Jason Robert Brown has said of his show, "It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back."
I also believe it is a show of self-discovery and testing our own limits. Through tight harmony and soaring melody lines, you will get lost in this show. Not to mention the intricate piano lines supporting the vocals.
Costs for licensing/royalty fees, theatre space and staff, musicians, and actors add up quickly. It has always been a dream of mine to create a show from the ground up. I feel like I have a great vision and want to make this happen.
I need your help to make this a reality!! Any donors who choose to not remain anonymous will have their name included in the Playbill/program distributed at each performance.
