Help us convert a portion of these marina docks to low-profile rowing docks so that we can relocate to beautiful and convenient Aspinwall Riverfront Park! (The marina docks are too high to launch rowing shells from(
Fox Chapel Crew is halfway through its 24th year, with a significant history of Scholastic Nationals appearances over the past 15 years. We are partnering with the Park to provide a home for our team that will make access to our sport more convenient and less expensive for students in the school district. We also have a plan to extend summer programs and learn-to-row for all that will help reconnect the river communities to the water, providing rigorous exercise and exposure to the natural environment of our community that exists in our own backyard.
Former team members have found rowing to be a positive activity in college application, have excelled in leadership positions with the team and in life after school, have obtained college scholarships, and many are giving back to the sport by being full-time coaches at universities clubs, and National Teams or as volunteer coaches at all levels.
We have raised almost 75% of the funding needed to furnish Aspinwall Riverfront Park with racks and docks. This campaign is aimed to raise the remaining $30,000 (we have raised over $92,000 so far) within the next 2 months to allow us to relocate in time for for the spring rowing season.
