Support Maddy & her family as she beats cancer!

Hello family and friends of the Macke family! As you may be aware, Alex and Bridgette’s 4-year-old, Maddy, has been diagnosed with cancer, specifically pre-B cell ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). Alex and Bridgette appreciate all of the positive and supportive thoughts, prayers, and vibes you have already sent their way! Maddy began chemotherapy on August 12. Many of you have asked what more you can do to help. We all know the extravagant costs associated with a life change of this magnitude. The Mackes have medical insurance that is going to cover a lot of Maddy’s hospital and doctor visits over the next several months and years.  However, the financial burden that comes with missed work and managing her illness will add up quickly. In addition, Alex and Bridgette are expecting their second child in October. The hardest financial hit has come in the form of Bridgette's inability to work, as she will need to take the entire school year off to bring Maddy to her treatments while taking care of Maddy's new baby sister. Further, Alex's career as a public school teacher means any leave of absence is unpaid. This fund intends to go toward: -General support of family needs in light of Bridgette's loss of her entire annual salary for the 2019-2020 school year -Alex's ability to take unpaid days off, should his need go beyond his regular allotment Thank you all for your support of this very brave, special girl and her amazing parents.
