Love for the Hruska Family

On May 23, 2019, Brittany and Nick Hruska brought their 2nd beautiful daughter, Brynlie Ellen, into the world. After a brief stay in the NICU (having fluid in the lungs and rapid breathing), they were able to take their healthy and perfect baby home. When Brittany and Nick took their daughter, Brynlie to her two week checkup, they expected everything to be pretty routine. For two weeks they watched as sweet Brynlie was introduced to everyone in the family. Daddy, mommy, and big sister, Kylie, were smitten and in love with their newest addition.
Brittany and Nick did have a few concerns to discuss with the pediatrician at this appointment, but thought they would be pretty insignificant. On this day, through a lot of tests and transports to different hospitals, they found out that their sweet girl was born with a Congenital Heart Disease, Complete AV Canal and also recently found out she also has Coarctation of the Aortic Valve. Both of these heart defects would require Open Heart Surgery within the first 6 months of life. As more signs of heart failure started showing up (eating less, heavier breathing/retractions, and a stall in weight gain) the doctors and surgical team agreed the surgery would need to happen earlier than originally planned. It will now happen at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus on Wednesday, August 7th. Doctors have told them to be prepared for her to be in the hospital for at least 10-14 days after surgery. Brynlie will be 2 ½ months old at the time of surgery. She is one TOUGH little girl!
Brittany said it best when she wrote, "What we do know is that GOD HAS THIS. He is with Brynlie and all of us and will give us all of the strength that we need to get through this trial. Brynlie is soooo strong and she is a Heart Warrior!"
A "Go Fund Me" is set up with a goal to support Baby Brynlie and the Hruska family during this time. Due to the many doctor visits, possible hospital stays as well as Brynlie needing close care and attention to heal and not catch any infection, Brittany and Nick needed to make the tough yet obvious decision to have Britany stay home with Brynlie and not teach this coming school year. She will be able to take Brynlie to all of her checkups, Echos, and care for her as she recovers and gets strong after surgery. Any funds will be used to pay for medical bills or things that this sweet girl needs in the future.
Above all else, Brittany and Nick ask for your continued prayers for Brynlie and for their family, for the nurses, doctors and surgeons to make the best decisions for her before, during, and after surgery. Thank you all so much for praying for and loving on the Hruska family.
