Love For Lidija

My mother, Lidija Nadarevic, 41, is the loving mother to myself and 3 siblings. In March 2016 my mother was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, which is a rare soft tissue cancer. In June 2016 she received a below the knee amputation along with additional surgeries. During this time she has undergone multiple rounds of chemo and other treatments. For a time we thought the battle had been won, but in the past year the cancer re-surfaced in the lymph nodes which caused it to spread upward through her body. 

After more treatments this year, it became to take a toll on her body. She was no longer to return to work, or basic household tasks.  
Recently after an ER visit due to stomach pains, it was found that she had fluid and a 7cm mass in her stomach. She was sent to an oncologist in upstate New York. After draining the fluids in the stomach the oncologist discussed the different options. We could continue chemo treatments which had a very low success chance, and would be difficult on the already strained body, or we could prepare for what was inevitably coming. The decision was made to enjoy the 3 months in what comfort can be provided. 

As the caregiver for my mother and siblings it has been very difficult for me. It has been hard for me to watch her suffer and especially the past couple of month where it has been getting increasingly worse. Being from Bosnia, our immediate family is all we have here. This is why I have started this fundraiser. These funds will be used first to cover funeral expenses and then medical costs accrued throughout this fight.
