Louis the Lizard's Leg -goal met

As a social worker for high risk kids I come across a lot of sad stories... this is Louis's(Lewie) story and the story of a 17 year girl who loves her (Louis is a girl).
Louis is a leopard Gecho. Her owner's name can't be given out because I'm a social worker and.... rules. Let's call her Carol. Carol is having a shit time of it of lately. This might be kinda an obvious thing to say or else she wouldn't need me to be her social worker. I can't tell you exactly what a shit time means (again, rules), but it's not a good time for her. Carol has had Louis since Carol was 12. Before Carol, Louis got passed around a lot until Carol took her in for keeps. They've been some of the most constant things in each others lives since.
So, what happened to Louis? Louis's friend, a bearded dragon, tried to kill Louis out of jealousy. Carol had a really bad weekend and when Carol came home and let Beardie and Louis out and paid attention to Louis first... Well, beardie bit Louis's tail half off and snapped her leg at the knee. To make it worse Lois was shedding and has shed skin stuck in her eye making her almost blind and so she never saw it coming. Louis dropped the tail last night, which actually makes things better (even though it looks gross, the tail stump is okay).
The vet's can amputate Louis's leg to stop it from rotting and killing Louis (which would be soon), but the price is out of reach for Carol since she is just a kid. Louis chances are good if the surgery happens. The vet's estimate is in the photos if you want to see exactly what's up (some info blacked out). Louis has an appointment on the 7th for surgery if Carol and I can come up with the funds. Otherwise Carol will have to decide by the 8th to put Lous down or risk letting the leg rot and hoping for the best (likely this would mean a painful death for Louis this weekend).
As a social worker I do what is needed to make things better for the kids I'm in charge of caring for and this time around... this means taking care of Carol's lizard. A lot of people have said to her since this happened "it's just a lizard" or "Squish it and flush it" (that's a quote), but lizard or dog... this is Carol's pet and she loves and relies on Louis though all the other awful stuff happening to her... so, save the lizard and save the girl.
Literally any help could be the difference for Louis between life and death (not to be over dramatic, but it is)
