Lostwood Lane - sustainable apparel

I have been passionate about sustainability in the fashion industry ever since my time studying design at UCDavis. There, I learned about the impact of all the chemicals and plastics that are ubiquitous in apparel manufacturing and about the deplorable conditions that many garment workers are forced to endure. I plan to create a line of beautiful clothes that are made in America using clean, ethical practices. I feel that we all have a responsibility to protect the Earth and its people and resources.

Much of the eco-fashion currently available is focused on the fabrics to the detriment of style; whereas, clothes that people really want to wear are made using petroleum based chemicals by oppressed workers under atrocious conditions. My line strives to bridge this gap, giving women styles they want that are in line with their social and environmental values.

Lostwood Lane is a romantic, vintage inspired sustainable clothing line made from natural fibers, hand dyed (by me) using natural dye techniques.

I have been dreaming of starting my own apparel company for nearly a decade and I truly believe that I am finally ready to take the leap and go for it! I plan to use this money to get my company going and buy things like fabrics, studio equipment and marketing materials.

My first collection will debut August 8th at the Alley 33 Fashion Event in Portland, OR and I invite you all to attend if you can (donation or not).

Thank you all so much!
