Hi, my name is Kimberly Parker. I wote, produce, and perform a one-woman show (on my hearing loss journey) Had I not taken myself on in this HUGE way, I doubt that I ever would have started this monumental adventure...it's been a dream of mine for years...and a roller coaster ride!!!

I was born with a genetic "bi-lateral/progressive" hearing loss that went undetected and untreated for half of my life. Before I turned 40, I was deaf. Less than 3 years ago, I underwent surgery for a "Cochlear Implant". I am hearing better than ever with "electronic hearing" and my world...my life... is forever changed.

"Lost in Sound" is the story of my journey through hearing loss, deafness and hearing again with the help of technology. It is a mix of narrative and vignettes, interwoven with musical solos. Often times funny, other times sad, it is informative, thought provoking and inspirational. It is a story that was "begging" to be told ...a story that you will be thinking about and talking about long after the show is over. A story that will raise awareness of the silent epidemic that is hearing loss.

I have performed 2 staged readings of my play on to sold out houses, it was a great success. People are raving about it. Tonight I take the stage for my Seattle debut and I am so excited! My next step is to tour with my play and bring it to thousands of people acrross the country. Please help me help others and fund raise to take this provocative play to the next level.

I'm raising funds to pay for travel and production costs. Help me shed light on the invisable conditon of hearing loss to change perceptions and change the world. Thanks for your support!

I want to share another captioned clip from my play. It's a funny story of someone with hearing loss going through McDonald's drive-in. I hope you enjoy it.

I'm getting closer to my goal of creating hearing loss awareness through theatre. My next show is scheduled for February 28th in Poulsbo. I start working with a professional coach in March. I still need help to make it all happen. I'm proceding on faith know that the universe will provide what I need to get their.

Please support me anyway you can.

Thanks Kimberly

Wow...My show was a sell out-standing room only! I'm so excited about the future of this play. What blew me away...was how blown away everyone was! I knew I had created a good script;
however I never expected this kind of reaction. Based on the feedback I'm getting..."Amazing" and "Exceptional" and "Brilliant" I now believe it's far better than I originally thought. People were thanking me for this gift I gave them!

I was overwhelmed and I am very pleased that this is only the beginning. I get to take this show on the road and bring it to thousands of people and make a positive difference in their lives!

I will be posting more videos and clips of my performance when it's done being edited. Please support me in taking this play to the next level. I want to work with a professional coach and polish my performance. I also need help with marketing to get this play into theaters across the country.

Thanks a million for helping me bring awareness to the silent epidemic that is hearing loss!

I have a friend who (I judge) is in denial about their hearing loss, and I have difficulty talking with them about it. I hope your play and videos will help them understand it and learn how to improve their communication skills.
