Loss of beloved Mother & home

Donation protected
On April 6, 2017 our lives were uprooted and changed forever with a tragedy.  The heavy rains and winds striking the Lancaster, SC area caused a massive tree to strike our mother and father's home.

We lost our beloved mother and grandmother Colleen Burgess at the age of 66, as she was called home to the lord when the tree came down. Colleen had just retired from serving her community as a nurse for CMC for many years where she worked tirelessly for her patients and repeatedly received letters of recognition. Colleen was also a true servant of the lord and was an active member in her church.

In this tragedy our father and grandpa James Burgess, a disabled veteran, is now faced with the loss of his wife and is left without a home to live in. We have set a goal of $20,000 so that we can have the tree removed and rebuild his home.  We have set a timeline of 1 month, but this is not a deadline. We ask that you send any help that you can and prayers in this time of tribulation that we face.  Any help that you may give regardless of amount will be truly restorative to our hearts above all else.

Sincerely,
The Burgess Family
