London's Love Bugs Unite!
London is a witty, creative, compassionate 9-yr old that is such a light to all those around her. Her positivity and uplifting spirit for life is beyond anything you could ever imagine. She has the biggest heart you'll ever encounter and she'll be the first to befriend anyone she sees in need. She loves to craft, color, and snuggle her dolls and stuffed animals.
In February 2017, London's parents took her in for a small lump on her cheek. She was told it was a clogged saliva gland and that some antibiotics would clear it up. A week past and there was no improvement. She followed up with a CT scan and that day the whole world flipped upside down for London & her family, as she was told to head to Phoenix Children's Hospital to start more tests for what they thought was the "c" diagnosis.
The official diagnosis would come days later after multiple scans, biopsies and countless blood tests were performed to make sure the we knew exactly what we were dealing with. London has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric Cancer.
As you can only imagine, we are all trying to navigate during this time, but London continues to be the light for us all. Her upbeat spirit and beyond-kind heart is truly inspiring. When the news was delivered to her of her diagnosis, her response was, "When I get out of here I want to give all of my money back to this hospital and I'm going to be even more grateful for everything that I have." If only we could all have this mindset all the time. This girl is beyond special. I promise you.
The road ahead is going to be full of physical and emotional roadbumps for London and her parents, but we are all staying really positive as this little girl is truly a miracle and has so many BIG things left to do in this world. London has been such a fighter this far and continues to blow our minds everyday in terms of how she's taking this all in stride and with such strength and grace. She knows that the doctors and medicine are going to help get the "bad cells" out of her body.
The costs of treatments, high deductibles, co-pays, not to mention the stress of managing day-to-day responsibilities while tending to London (and her 4-yr old brother, Lane) is going to be something we can ALL help with. So many "love bugs" have already reached out asking for ways to help and here's where we start. Let's get London the treatments and care that she needs to kick this disease to the curb!
So, we're asking you to please help. Please give what you can. And, beyond that, let others know about this precious little girl. No child deserves to go through this, but I PROMISE you, London is destined to have a huge impact on this world and we have no doubt that this is all part of the plan. She's put on this earth to inspire and uplift others around her and she needs your help to do just that.
We plan to keep you all updated with her progress. (Click "updates" above.) Much love from our family to yours.
Heidi Moore, London's aunt, will be providing updates on behalf of Heather & Cole Crabtree, London's parents.
