Lomar Farm's Barn Revival
5 years ago my family and I moved from NY city to an old 19th century farmhouse in Palisades NY. Soon after we began to keep bees and it has changed our lives completely. Working with the bees have taught us so much. Each bee has a job and all of them pitch in for the benifit of the species. We have taken this hive concept and made it our rules to live by.
We have a delpated barn on our property that we want to turn into a beautiful space where people can take yoga classes, learn about beekeeping, attend seminars on organic gardening, teach people about making beeswax candles and come to delicious farm to table dinners.
Part of the proceeds will go to developing an outdoor curriculum about beekeeping and teaching the basics to inner city youth from NYC as well as kids in and around our neighborhood.
We have already renovated 1/3 of the barn and turned it into our Lomar Farms studio where we make, pack and ship our beeswax candles and honey. We will use the funds we get to renovate the rest of the barn. We need a new foundation, floor, roof ,water, electric and plumming.
There has never been a better time than now to connect with others on a soul level and it is our dream to provide a space of healing, learning, and gathering for our community. Every donation helps no mater how small and is greatly appreciated! It takes a village to move mountains and we need help from our village to make this dream a reality.
All our Love,
Yvonna, Brett, Lola and Marley
