We are raising money for my awesome 82 year old
mother of nine, LoHua Odekirk--a non-traditional family member and one of Hot Springs, Montana's dearest elders--to assist and support her in a time of physical and financial need battling cancer.
Having done some traditional treatment in the past, with the return and spread of the cancer in her body, LoHua has decided to go the natural route for battling it by utilizing different methods for healing. Some of the natural cancer regimens can be so intense when self-administered that it wears out the patient and the ensuing physical weakness impedes the healing process. One of the labor-intensive and energy-sapping remedies that she has undertaken is the Gerson Therapy; an inpatient clinic treatment is needed for her as soon as possible.
The Gerson Therapy is a natural treatment for diseases that uses an organic, plant-based diet, raw juices, coffee enemas and supplements. It has the potential to restore the body and enable the body to heal itself from a number of illnesses, including cancer. This intensive natural healing system can be administered in an inpatient clinic in Mexico and helps support the physical, nutritional and psychological needs which will help LoHua get through her cancer regimen.
Other treatment protocols that she has decided upon are intraveneous vitamin C therapy, and energetic and cranial sacral work. The money raised through this fundraiser will go to LoHua's treatments, both natural and traditional, that may be needed to keep her upon this earth until she's at least 100! Those expenses include travel costs, medical bills, and alternative treatments. She will also need money for ongoing dietary regimens and living expenses since she will not be able to work in her self-built store, Rainbow Zen, while undergoing the inpatient treatments.
My mom has always been a go-getter, an out-of-the-box parent and thinker, and natural teacher of metaphysical arts. She has struggled and worked hard her whole life on her chosen path. I would like to support and help ease her burdens through this fundraiser to help her to pursue the treatment that she desires to kick cancer's butt!
