Logan Bogart~Osteosarcoma support
Logan was expeiencing pain in what he thought was his MCL. He assumed that he had damaged it when he slipped on some gravel. The pain had continued to get worse, so he decided to go get it checked out. on January 26th, he went to the doctor who ordered an MRI. Logan was asked to come back the next day with his parents. Being that they were in Medford, Natalie went with him . On January 27th Logan was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and sent to OHSU for further evaluation.
Logan then saw the orthopedic surgeon at OHSU on February 1st. The surgeon sent Logan for a CT Scan. They were able to see from this that the cancer had not spread to his organs. He went for another MRI and bone density scan and it was confirmed that Logan has the rarest form of Osteoscarcoma; a Chondrogenic Cell tumor. Becuase this cancer is very aggressive, they wanted take aggressive action.
Logan will start aggressive chemotherapy soon and will do 5 days on 2 days off for 12 weeks. After the first 12 weeks, if his body is able, and chemo is working, he will have a knee replacement and partial femur reconstruction. Then as body allows he will continue chemotherapy again for 12 weeks with 5 days on and 2 off.
Because of the aggressive chemo, Logan will have to stay in the hospital and when he isn't in the hospital on non chemo days, will require 24 hour care. This makes his family, especially his mom who lives much further away, to travel a lot; missing work and income. We are asking that if you feel it in your heart to donate at this time to help with medical expenses, travel and lost income, we greatly appreciate your help in doing so!
God bless you all for donations and prayers for this family. Logan, we are praying for a complete healing!
