Logan Schoenhardt Bucket List

"I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places, the things that I did
With every broken bone, I swear I lived”

Logan Schoenhardt is a cherished son, brother, grandson, friend, classmate, and teammate to many of those around him.  His relationship to each of us is different, but to all who know him, he is  recognized as a fighter in the most remarkable way.  Over many years, he has battled recurrent high grade sarcoma in his skull, and has prevailed through the ordeal and recovery six times previously.

Funds raised through this campaign will allow the family to spend valuable and precious remaining time together. Contributions will cover travel costs, and ease financial and medical challenges that have been building over the past six years, and will also cover end-of life expenses.

In addition, Logan’s parents have a broader goal in mind : to create a non-profit organization that will help families in similar circumstances.   The Schoenhardts have experienced first hand the emotional and financial stress that occur during a battle with a long-term illness. Their personal experiences will guide them as they turn toward helping others.

There are no words that come readily to describe the courage, compassion, depth, and kindness of this small boy.  Friends and family know him as fun, adventurous, optimistic , and a thoughtful, loyal friend. He has been an inspiration to many of us, and a hero to others. He is one of the most remarkable children you could experience and meet, even at ten years old. His conversations and vocabulary can be engaging and well beyond his youth.

Sadly, he is now engaged in his final battle, of which he is cognizant and aware .  The time remaining is limited for our strong young warrior.  He knows he will soon be able to rest in the arms of Jesus.  As his friends and family, we want the best for him.  Soon he will be in a place of fun and laughter, full of adventure and free of pain.

Logan’s family’s desire is to spend the remaining time with Logan enjoying each other’s company, while making Logan’s last days on this earth special and full of meaning and purpose.  When Logan found out his cancer was back again and that nothing could stop it, he came up with his own “bucket list”.   Because Logan loves science, museums, history, Disney and especially the New England Patriots, the Schoenhardt’s have plans to create experiences for Logan around each of these things if they can.  Destinations so far have included New York, and Disney World.

Astoundingly, he recently met his hero, Tom Brady, and ESPN put a story together about the two of them meeting.  Logan’s devotion to the team and to Tom helped him focus on something other than his trial of life.  You may keep updated on Josephine Schoenhardt’s Facebook page.

Please continue to pray for Logan, Josephine, Matt, Keara and extended family as well as the others who are privileged to love Logan dearly. It has been the grace of God which has carried them thus far, and it will see them through.

Thank you for standing with the Schoenhardt family all these years.   They are very grateful to all of you.

With Love,
