Officer Jared MacDonald Relief fund
A long weekend of rest and visitors for Jared. Connor Vitek stopped by the house back from his new job with Polar Tankers. Connor was out to sea when he heard called about Jared being shot via SAT phone and this was his first visit since he's been back. Connor attended school with Patrick at MMA and had spent a lot of time with the MacDonald family over the last four years. It was very nice for everyone to see him. Caitlin Gilley another close family friend also stopped by for the first time since that horrible February morning.
A quiet, snowy, boring day for Jared today. On the other hand Team Jared was in full swing over at the Salon Belor in Bourne.
A huge thanks to Bethany Wing and all her staff for donating thier time today to cut hair even having some time in between to add "Thin Blue Line " highlights to thier hair. What a great family event with Massages and Reiki also provided upstairs.
Jared had lots of visitors and meetings today. He was able to have breakfast and lunch with some of the other officers that were along side him that cold February morning. It was good that they could meet and share stories and feelings. There are only a very few who know what went down that night and being able to talk about it with each other only helps the invisible wounds heal quicker.
This evening Alpha Krav Maga Boston Cape Cod, Blueline Division, held a police self defense class to support Bourne Police Officer Jared Mcdonald. This class was open to all sworn law enforcement and covered headlocks into control and handcuffing.
With all proceeds going to benefit Officer Mcdonald. Thier special guest instructor was Officer Jim Klauba from the Chicago Police Academy Defensive Tactics Training Unit. Jim has over twenty years in law enforcement, is a martial arts expert, and is a former National Amateur Kickboxing Champion. He is also part owner of Alpha Krav Maga Boston Blueline Division.
Today was a great day for Jared. He was visited by and able to go to lunch with two other police hero's Bob and Mario. These are three public servants who for years have put thier lives on the line, mostly for those that they had never met. The three of them also, almost payed the ultimate price. Almost being the key word there. These three along with many others in thier line of work are true hero's. Google thier stories, remember thier names, for as you sleep these are the ones who would give thier lives to keep you and your family's safe. Thank you guys for taking time out of your day and driving down to the Cape to check in on your fellow brother. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made and for the drive and desire you have to take your stories and lessons learned to so many. Never Give Up..
