Discipleship School Tuition

My name's Liz, and I'm not usually one to talk about God. Heck, I didn't even know having a personal relationship with God was possible until about a year ago. 

But what's happened in the past year -- how He has continued to pursue me and be there for me when things get tough (even if I didn't want Him there) -- He's beginning to transform my life. I guess you could say He's showing me how to be fully ME. And it's kind of wonderful.

There are a few caveats, though: I still doubt His love for me every day. I've never read the Bible front to back. I don't know how to hold up my end of a relationship with God. I don't know how to talk to anyone else about His love. I feel ashamed to bring Him up in daily conversations for fear of looking "lame." The list goes on and on. But at the center of it all, I know He's worth pursuing. 

Long story short, I've been looking for a way to hold myself accountable. In comes Antioch Discipleship School. 

If you're not familiar with Antioch , it's a church that I've fallen in love with in Salt Lake City, UT. If you're not familiar with discipleship school, here are more details:

During the school year, students will experience a deeper revelation of the nation of God, a greater sense of personal freedom, clarity and purpose, and a foundation to minister more effectively in whatever sphere God has called us to. Overall, the school will teach me lifelong habits for spending time with God and will give me the confidence and knowledge to talk to others about all He has to offer.  Exciting, right?

Not only will we meet for class twice a week, we will also intentially read the Bible from start to finish, learn from guest speakers, read additional books, go on an overseas retreat, grow in community and attend an annual conference in San Diego. 

I fully realize that none of these actions are necessary to grow a deeper relationship with Him. On the contrary, actions don't matter to Him. However, after seeing all that He's done in my life, I figure the least I can do is earnestly get to know Him within an eight-month course.  

While I'm eager to explore this opportunity, I'm lacking the funds to begin this journey. In all, the school costs $1,700, which needs to be paid in full by September 2, 2016.

That's why I'm reaching out to you — friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, etc. With your help I can make this unique opportunity a reality, and experience a radical transformation in my relationship with Jesus!
