Liv Goes for Gold in Minsk, Belarus

Muay Thai has been part of my life for 5 years now. Through hard training and experience I have had a successful run in the national and international fight circuit.
Holding a record of 11-2, with 5 KO/TKO's, I was named one of Ontarios top prospects in our sport on Fight Network.

I now have the opportunity to represent my country on the world stage in Minsk, Belarus at the 2017 IFMA World Championships.

In November 2016, I competed in the Open Class Elite Female 60kg category in Muay Thai Canada's first National tournament. I was set up for 2 hard fights to claim my spot on top of the podium.
It had been a while since I fought, and the first fight was tough. After the first round, I felt at home in the ring again. I found my rhythm quickly.
Through determination, heart, and hard work we pulled off a dominant victory on the first day. My fight in the finals was confirmed. I rested up, cut some weight, and prepared for another battle.
I was so excited going into the championship fight. I was riding the momentum from the previous day and felt so lucky that I got to be in the ring 2 days in a row.
I found my rhythm quickly and fought 2 hard rounds before my opponents corner threw in the towel.
I am Muay Thai Canada’s first ever 60kg female Open Class Champion. Through high intensity performances, I also won the Best Female Athlete of the tournament.

Being the champion, I solidified my spot to on Team Canada to represent at the IFMA World Championships in Minsk, Belarus this May. Considered the most elite professional/amateur tournament in our sport, I feel more ready than ever to compete against and alongside the best in the world.

The tournament runs from May 3 - 13 2017.
With your help, myself and my coaches - Kru Darwin Miranda and Loni Gibson, will travel to compete in Minsk, Belarus, with winning the World Title on our minds.

All funding will be used for the training camp, flights, hotels and tournament fees for myself and my coaches who are coming with me to represent Canada.

I take a lot of pride in representing my country, and I am determined to show my skill on the world stage.

Thank you for reading my story, for believing in myself and the team, every little bit counts.
