I am grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me thus far — but it's time to think bigger.
My name is Aliyah or “Helena Banks,” I'm a young artist based in the DC area raising money to help fund this wonderful world of illustrations that I've created….not only for myself but for the world around me. I have been creating and strengthening my ideas, and I’m ready for the world to see what I can do.
I hope to raise $10k to use towards various projects to expand my "Little Monster House". At the top of the list, is my first solo art exhibition to create a physical world for my viewers to step into. Second is equipment to produce animated shorts for my illustrations, and also to be able to produce more work. Last, is merchandise for production (i.e: posters, apparel, figurines etc).
I look at my art work as its own realm, an opportunity for me to create a whole new reality for others to enjoy. And there’s nothing more fulfilling than than getting feedback on my work. It’s what keeps me going.
Ultimately, I want to be able to give back to the art world but also the youth. To let aspiring artists, young entrepreneurs, or anyone following a dream, know that anything is truly possible with love, passion, and hard work.
We are all human and we all want to feel gratification from the things we love most.
