Little Luna’s Heart is Broken. Help us Fix it

Hi Everyone! I’m Luna and I’m a 3 month old German Shepherd cross living in Winnipeg , Manitoba . I’m a rescue puppy from the Winnipeg Humane Society! When my family brought me home from the shelter , they didn’t know that I was very sick. After my first check up at the vet, my family was told that I have a grade 4 heart murmur . After some more testing, it was found that I have something called PDA (Patent Ducts Arteriosus). My heart has an extra tube in it because it didn’t close when it was supposed to, and it’s working far too hard for my little body to keep up. My family had two choices... they could give me back to the Humane Society and get another dog that was healthy, or they could keep me. If I went back to the Humane Society, I was going to be put down, so they brought me home and decided to give me the best life they possibly could. The Vet College in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is the closest place to find a Cardiac Surgeon to try and help fix my heart. Without this surgery, it is not likely that I will see my first birthday, and if I do... I will go into heart failure not long after that. My family is trying their hardest to give me a chance at life. Despite all this, I am a sweet little girl with a wonderful disposition.
