Little Davud`s Fight

No parent would ever wish to hear their kid is unwell. Our hearts leapt into mouth when we even think about a small surgery or general anaesthetic for our little babies or grown-ups (always babies!).
Davud’s parents had to stay strong when they heard their son’s diagnosis in October 2016 –inborn brain tumour (Anaplastic Ependymoma). Look at the sweet boy in the picture – he hasn’t even turned two yet. 8-mm-dimiter (!) tumour needed the most urgent and very expensive operation.
Family moved from Azerbaijan to Turkey where one of the best neuro-surgeons handled the persnickety removal. It was the successful operation. Treatment was followed by a course of radio-therapy in November. With the most caring mum and the strongest dad the baby went through this hell on earth.
The treatment was exhausting for the little body – Davud got infection several times and had to take strong antibiotics. In November further complication ended up with a shunting surgery. Davud came of this challenge with honour. But… lost his sight… The saddest news burst the family and friends into tears.
You know what… this might sound like a very sad story. It would be if we knew there was no hope. THERE IS! Davud is smiling dancing on daddy’s laps and we all believe in this little hero.
The tumor is not there anymore. The sight can come back as the brain heals. Our Davud is not hopeless patient. He just needs proper treatment against cancer. His young age makes chemo-therapy dangerous and even useless. Immunotherapy is the salvation and there is a clinic in the UK that will take care of little Davud. But! Immunotherapy is very expensive and time is of the essence – the funds are needed immediately!
The community has been helping from the day 1. The family, friends and people around have been raising money at all stages. But now we need your help!
