Two children in the same family were engaged in a battle of life and death due to failure of the liver in Nawagaththegama, Sri Lanka.

These are the five-year-old Jinuli Jintara and her 3 year old brother, Chamika Harshana, from Nawagattegama Maha Andarawewa.

Jinuli and Harshana have had three elder sisters and they have died as a result of their liver disease at a young age.

Although the doctors recommended that these two small children be liver transplanted, their father or mother, a disabled war hero, can not do so.

According to doctors, it would have been necessary to carry out liver transplant within a year and a half in Jinuli, and this little chumika has only a short period of three months left for liver transplant .

When I saw this news article on  Derana News, Sri Lanka, I contacted the father, Herath through Derana News, to find out more details about their requirement.

The donations will be sent over to the account in Sri Lanka and will be used to book the treatment in hospital expenses in India.

For the transplant- INR 2,25,0000 (around USD 35000)

Another roughly $13,000 needed for the other expenses such as air travel and accommodation for 3 months.

Funds collected through GoFundMe will be deposited to the account in Sri Lanka details as below.

Account Name: W. T M. D. Priyadashani
Account Number: 3872970
Bank: Bank of Ceylon
Branch: Galgamuwa

The funds credited by 02/26/2018 by GoFundMe to my personal bank account has been sent over on 02/26/2018 , expected to reach the account in Sri Lanka on Friday 2nd of March 2018 through MoneyGram. Once the the transaction completes the receipt will be attached in this space.

Please note that the funds will not be transferred through Anaheim Temple as previously planned, as their bank account was encountering some issues. Since the funds are required urgently, it was decided to transfer through my personal bank account to Chamika's mother account.

A meeting is expected on Saturday 3rd of March with Ryaz who's representative of Global Hospitals in Sri Lanka to start the proccess of making the booking.

This is a joint effort by the Sri Lankan community in USA, Australia, Italy and Japan.
