Little Ben Banks

On October 18th, Marie Banks, wife to Ben and mom to 12 year old Grace & 10 year old “little” Ben, took a giant step in her battle against breast cancer. She “rang the bell” in celebration of taking her last dose of chemotherapy. Her and her families’ world was looking brighter.
Just two weeks later, in the early morning hours of November 2nd, the lights dimmed just a bit for the Banks family. Little Ben suffered a seizure as a result of a hemorrhage in his brain at their home in Chippewa Township. He was transported to the local hospital by ambulance where they stabilized him for the helicopter ride to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The doctors and nurses there performed surgery to stop the bleeding and swelling in his brain. Little Ben is fighting for his life right now as he attempts to recover from this traumatic event. In his mom’s words “Our WEE BOY is a fighter and God is holding him close with his healing hands. Please continue your prayers of power for our little superhero.”
Marie has been a ridiculous model of positivity through her fight with cancer and Big Ben is a rock that the family is stabilized by, but they could use a little extra help right now. The simple truth is that Little Ben’s journey is just beginning and a big part of that is going to take place away from the family’s home. Medical costs and living expenses will be staggering as you would imagine.
