Lisa Angel Broke Her Neck.. So She Is Painting...


Dear friends and family worldwide... here it is... my first ever car accident and my first ever crowdfunding campaign! 



The story goes like this, I was the back seat passenger in a small rental car, driving with two girlfriends to our regular dance class at our favourite studio, we were turning left into the car park and just as the nose of our car was entering the parking... BAM a big white van slams into us from the left side... they were illegally overtaking us on the wrong side of the road on a double junction, they had been speeding up behind us for a while anyway as we were driving within the 60km speed limit (obviously too slow for them), literally “up our ass” as people usually say, and didn’t bother to look that as we slowed down we were indicating and turning left... instead it seems they were so annoyed that we were slowing down even more they just HAD to overtake us (on the wrong side of the road)... they desperately tried to blame us to the police, that we weren’t indicating the turn, which is of course nonsense! They had no right to do what they did. 

As a result, I have a broken C6 vertebrae and I cannot work for 3 months... possibly longer.. as I’m a cook I tend to use this vertebrae a lot! We cooks are always looking down, something I cannot do for some time. 

It seems I will have some months of continued therapy and of course I’m choosing to treat this completely holistically. 

The doctors prescribed me drugs like  Tramadol and Valium for my first weeks of curation, yes the pain is very severe and I must wear this neck brace 24/7 for 3 months.

I also now have a herniated disc which means the nerves of my right arm are being pinched between the C6 & C7 vertebrae causing me immense, constant, shooting pains in down my right arm. This also will take many more months to heal and a lot of therapy before I’m really ready to get back into the kitchen.



Naturally I threw away the hospital prescription for the Morphine and Valium pills and I am using only CBD & THC oils for my pain relief. The CBD oil I take orally and the THC oil I use as a massage oil where the break is and down my right arm.  

So here we get to the crux, I live in Ibiza and I now cannot work for the whole summer. Some of you will know that summer in Ibiza is the time that we make our money to live on for the year as there is no work here in the winter. I have many job contracts I have to cancel and I was also supposed to be building up my organic food business from home, none of this is possible for some time now. I cannot feasibly start any project or work until September. 

All I can do is paint and write recipes.

I will be totally transparent about my costs and how I arrive to this number. My rent is 800 per month, my food is 300 per month (here in Ibiza we even must buy the drinking water as tap water is not clean here), the CBD treatment is 150 per month... all of which is super affordable when I can work full time as a chef and professional hustler.. ;) Right now I just don’t have that option.

My personal life situation is that really, I’m on my own.

My family are not rich people, my mother is disabled and my father cares for her and they live on a pension in a government house in England. They have helped me lovingly as much as they can. With a lot of emotional care and support, but financially it’s not possible. So I don’t have the option to rely on them for financial support. I’ve been working for myself since I’m 16... no I don’t have a degree.. literally just hustling as I go along, from my first job at 16 years old stacking shelves in the supermarket, to various other types of service employments, later getting into event & festival production around age 20... then much much later becoming a hula hoop dance artist, discovering I’m also a painter along the way... and now a pretty good cook ‍ somehow I’ve always managed to thrive and live a very healthy lifestyle.

But this now is an obstacle I cannot face alone. I need all of you. 

Im talking with lawyers to claim on the insurance, but they say it will take many months so I need to look for other immediate solutions for myself, the other driver is trying to say it was our fault so he is taking it to court... so I cannot rely on any insurance claim to pay my rent these next months... 

So I offer to you who donate....

A unique original painting made with love and gratitude... the size of the painting will depend on the donation size... from large postcard to full size for framing. You can send me an email with your postal address and three favourite colours (yes black, white and grey are also colours to me)... maybe you want to give the postal address of a loved one so they receive a nice surprise?!... I aim to have them finished and posted by end of August... Please note that EVERY DONATION COUNTS... I don’t care if you donate small or big, I dearly appreciate EVERY SINGLE ONE... I’ve just been told that for “big donators” it’s nice to give a big thank you... I’ve never done this before so I’m just going along what I’ve researched about this crowdfunding thing ;))) 

Also I offer recipe ideas and online cooking tutorials. As you can imagine I’m pretty much available, online, all day everyday. So if you donate and you would like some direction in your kitchen... maybe you have a party coming up and you want to make amazing appetisers, or a delicious drooling main course for 8 people... or did you ever want to know how to make the perfect tiramisu??...
