Linette is Getting Top Surgery!

Donation protected
After about a year living openly as an agender person and using (although not everyone uses them for me *dry laughter*) they/them/theirs pronouns, I've decided to be proactive and take steps towards a very serious part of coming out, both physically and emotionally: getting top surgery. [cue boob puns]

A lot of transgender people say that they experience the feeling of "being born in the wrong body." This isn't the case for me. I am trying to make my body match the person that I envision myself as. I love my body now, and I can't wait to love it even more after this proceedure.

I'm sure you have a lot of questions, friend! Like "I thought you were a girl, what the hell?" or "Can I pay for the entire thing out of pocket for you?" [spoiler alert: no, YES] To preemtively answer some questions:
- I am not planning on going on testosterone or going through hormone therapy.
- I am not planning on changing my name.
- Yes, I'm sure.
- **UPDATE: MY SURGERY IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 19TH, THIS IS REAL, THIS IS HAPPENING, YOWZA, I'M VERY EXCITED AND GRATEFUL**
- Again, yes, I'm sure.

What do I need money for?
- $150 for the consultation
- $8,000 for Dr. McGinn's fees, the surgery fees itself, and the anesthesia fees
- ??? for aftercare and lodging for the requesite amount of time until I can return home [this will be updated when I have more information]
- ??? for misc. costs [this will be updated when I have more information]

The Papillion Center doesn't accept insurance to cover payment for top surgery, which means all of these costs need to come out of pocket. My insurance company (currently I have United Healthcare as a dependent of my parents'; if you know of something better ~please~ let's have a conversation) might reimburse me for some of the costs, but I don't know as of right now.

*DOLLAR AMOUNTS WILL BE UPDATED AS I GET MORE INFORMATION, ALSO TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THAT GOFUNDME TAKES A PERCENTAGE OF FUNDZ*

If we're friends and we have a mutual respect, I would love to answer any curious and midly-invasive questions you have, since I know this is coming as a shock to a lot of you! If we're not friends, piss off.

Linette
