General Background
My husband, Rogelio Lopez and I, Cheryl Lindley, started Sophia Isadora Academy of Circus Arts in memory of our daughter Sophia Isadora Lindley-Kessler. She was a smart, funny and talented artistic soul who flourished in the circus community. After her death at age 14 by a reckless driver, we wanted to provide a safe and welcoming community to other families and continue her legacy. Over time we have grown to include a professional company, LindleyLopez Circus, which invites students form Sophia Isadora Academy of Circus Arts to perform side by side with professional performers in our shows.
All our shows are free to the public and most of our productions are in the diverse neighborhood of City Heights in San Diego, CA. Many families within our audience are able to see a live performance for the first time. Other families have made our show their holiday tradition, a tradition we want to continue. Help us give this gift of love for the arts, families, and children. Help us to keep our Holiday Show going. The productions have been tradionally underwritten by small stipends, donations and volunteers. We would like to invite the Gofundme community to participate in our family by supporting us in our upcoming December holiday show and future productions. This year over 8,000 folks have seen our circus.

"I saw Macbeth de Cirque last night in the space I manage. Cheryl Lindley has put together a truly compelling and beautiful blend of traditional theater and circus. And the students she teaches in her circus school are sublimely talented. If you need a break from the literal and an infusion of the liminal, this is your permission from the universe. "
The Lindleylopez Circus is a new circus oriented troupe made up of artists spanning from 6 years of age to over 60 years of age. The shows are family oriented and cutting edge in a way that leaves audiences in wonder and amazement. The Lindleylopez Circus has developed a unique approach to both entertainment and storytelling through the medium of new circus.
Our Current Needs
We are undertaking this campaign to raise funds for our upcoming December holiday production. We need help with the following items and services.
1. A cherry picker (lift) to help install safe rigging and lights.
2. The services of a lighting tech, sound tech and stage manager.
3. Financial support for the Artistic Director.
4. Provide quality live entertainment to communities that are not able to afford the price of a ticket.
5. Creating memories for families.
