Lindi's Medical Expenses

$33,840 of $40,000 goal

Raised by 348 people in 9 months
Created September 15, 2017

On behalf of Washington State Gymnastics, Northwest Gymnastics Academy, and the entire Mattinson Family, I am asking for much needed help.

Lindi Mattinson was in a horrific head on collision on Wednesday September 13th in Hailey, Idaho, and our entire comminity is thanking God that she survived. Unfortunately, Lindi is now facing the fight of her life. While we will keep you posted on Lindi's condition as information becomes available, we do know that her right leg will need to be amputated above her knee, and that doctors are doing everything they can to save her other leg. She also has extensive internal injuries, as well as facial, pelvic and arm fractures.

More than anything, Lindi and her family needs our prayers.  But there is no denying that Lindi will also need a lot more. Our hope is that together we will be able to help with some of the financial burden her family faces ahead. Nothing about this recovery is going to be easy, and there is no doubt that your contribution will make a difference in her life. Please keep this young lady in your prayers. And please remember that every penny WILL help.

Lindi is home from St Luke's rehabilitation center! She will continue to have out patient therapy for occupational, physical and speech therapy to help her brain recover. The hope is that next week she can start weight bearing on her left leg. Lindi is so looking forward to getting out of a wheelchair! We are thankful for Lindi's progress and so thankful that we are getting closer and closer to our fundraising goal! The cost for knee joint components for her prosthetic are $40,000.00 alone! Every penny donated is appreciated more than you will ever know!

We are excited to report that Lindi has recovered to a point that baffles her doctors, and was discharged and life flighted to a rehab center in Spokane. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers that have gotten Lindi this far! More will be needed as she heads into the most critical and rigorous part of the journey for her.

Lindi is making headway every day! She had her skin graft on Friday and is healing nicely. The priority now is to get her pain under control! Keep her in your prayers as from there, she will be transferred to Spokane for rehab and the road to recovery! LONG road ahead, but she can do do this!!

Thanks for all the donations. Lindi's Dad said he was hoping this could go towards a prosthetic, and nothing would make us happier to see her walking (and dancing, and maybe even flipping) again!

Keep the donations coming. And with every penny, more strength and more hope...

Per Lindi's husband, her surgery was a success! They set the tibia with a rod and assessed her other leg for a skin graft instead of taking the leg up higher above the knee (she currently has a through-knee amputation). She also got promoted from ICU and is eating solid foods and very verbal. Keep the prayers coming, Lindi has already surpassed her diagnosis. and is getting stronger every day!!
