Lily's Choir is heading to Japan!!!

My incredibly talented daughter, Lily, has been given a wonderful opportunity! It is the first of it's kind for her.... and, for me- Meredith. We have been invited to attend the 2020 Olympiad Kick-Off in Tokyo, Japan with her choir, which takes place in July 2017!!!!!!!!! I am so sooooo proud of her and we are both extremely excited that this is actually happening!
The trip became a possibility for us because Lily auditioned for a top-level choir inside the Cincinnati Children's Choir, at the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music. She made it!!!! ~ have i mentioned that I am so sooooo proud of her?! ~ She is a Soprano 1 and has truly found a group that she loves and belongs to; an impossibly creative, talented, impressive group of children ages twelve to eighteen. In a small side note, I applied and became one of their choir managers, so I get to hear them hone their skills twice a week and I am in heaven.... truly.
The Bel Canto Choir (as they are called) has been invited to not only sing in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo, but, in Gifu, Japan (Cincinnati's sister city). The trip is in the first part of this coming July, and I have been invited to go as a chaparone for the group. The cost per attendee is going to come to $4000 (I can hear you all gasping for air..... i know!) This expense comes on top of another trip that we are making with the choir in March, to the American Choral Directors Association annual convention, in Minneapolis, MN. The group was invited to sing for conductors all over the nation and I have seen the performances (even the rehearsals!) that merit all this attention! They will shine like stars!!!
So, after much thought, I decided to launch this campaign to inform my loved and adored family and friends that we need some help!!!! LOL .... some cash, greenbacks, cheddar, fundage, paper, cake, simoleons, scratch!!! Y'know, pictures of dead presidents!!!
The chance to go and sing (and to be a choir manager) with this group on the other side of the world is a phenomenal opportunity and Lily and I would benefit so greatly from the experience. Any amount that you all feel that you would want to give to help us achieve our goal would be so immensely appreciated!!!! We will not forget this!! ~~ we may even get to send out some recordings of the Bel Canto shows to anyone who would like one!~~
( Aaaaawwww!! Bet ya couln't even imagine that such a set of lungs and vocal chords could come from that tiny babe!!!)... she Rocks!!!! ~~ did I mention how proud I am of her??!
