Helping Lilah Fight SMA type 1
Lilah has had a rough journey right from when she was born. She is very 'floppy' and would often times chokes on her food. Lilah ended up having troubles breathing in which she would turn blue. Lilah was then admitted to the hospital in Windsor. From there our sweet little girl has undergone many tests including: chest xrays, MRI, multiple bloodwork, and surgery for a G tube. Lilah is now unable to eat orally and gets fed only bu G tube. She was then transferred to London hospital for some more testing to help us reach a diagnosis. Upon arrival at the London Childrens Hospital, Lilah's lungs had collapsed and she was crash intubated. She remained intubated for 2 and a half months, and ended up having surgery for a tracheostomy and a port a cath. Lilah has now been diagnosed with SMA type 1, which there is unfortunately no cure for currently. She is permantly ventilated and needs 24/7 care. We are looking to raise money in order to help pay for: medical supplies, medication, gas for travels back and fourth, Rondald Mcdonald house, tests and equipment she will need. We have now been discharged from the hospital in London, which meant extensive training for Eric and myself to be allowed to bring her home; as well as my mom and Eric's sister.
Please help us help Lilah to keep that beautiful bright smile on!
Any donation is much appreciated!
