Lilah Irene Marenger medical bills

For those of you who don’t know, my sister Halle Marenger and her husband Garrett Marenger have had many losses. In May they found out they were expecting another child. After many complications doctors only gave this baby a 20% chance of survival. They beat the odds time and time again. In the summer we found out that they were going to be having a girl, their first daughter. Halle’s team of doctors advised them that this should be their last attempt at her carrying a baby as it was very high risk and she has medical problems of her own. At 26 weeks, Halle’s water broke. She was transported from Escanaba to Bellin Hospital in Green Bay by ambulance. She was kept on bed rest there for 7 weeks. The entire time she was there she suffered contractions and would have boughts of bleeding. On December 9, 2018 Halle experienced a lot of bleeding. The nurses hooked her up to the monitors and they couldn’t find a heart beat. They brought in a portable ultrasound machine and still no heart beat. The doctor brought in a better quality ultrasound machine and after about 5 minutes they thought they might have seen a flicker. They rushed Halle and Lilah back for an emergency c-section. She was born at 5:04 pm. Lilah was not breathing and did not have a pulse. They were able to revive her but she had been without oxygen or a heart rate. Once she was revived they intubated her and she was kept alive by machines. The NICU doctor performed a 24 hour eeg on her. The eeg showed no brain activity and by this time she was maxed out on all of her meds and was in multiple organ failure. She was too tired to keep fighting. The doctor informed Halle and Garrett that she would not make it until Wednesday so they had to remove her from life support on Tuesday, December 11th which was their son Elliott’s third birthday. Lilah passed away peacefully in her mom’s arms at 3:05 pm that day, 2 hours short of 2 days old.

Although her funeral service has graciously been donated by Skradski Family Funeral Home Lilah acquired a lot of medical bills in her two short days here on Earth. Garrett and Halle have both been off work for 7 weeks already and will need some time to grieve before returning to work so any excess money will go towards their every day living expenses. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
