Lila needs new, big girl, foot and ankle braces
Hello! Last year I implemented a Gofundme page for Lila to get expensive leg braces so that she could begin to learn to walk. With those braces and corresponding walker, she has gotten to the point where she is standing on her own for several seconds before sitting carefully, her strength and balance have improved considerably to where she is using her walking or cruising all over the furniture by herself, and walking with someone holding her hands. She'll be walking independently soon!
However, Lila cannot use the braces we bought for her last year anymore. They're too constrictive for the progress that she has made developmentally, and are now preparing to get her new "big girl" braces for her current needs.
We have already worked the details out with her physical therapist, and we have visited an orthopedics location in Erie PA, and even picked out the design of the braces she'll be getting. All I need to do now is to call the orthopedics location, give them the down payment, and they will then send away for the braces. We’ll receive them in just a couple weeks.
Luckily, this orthopedics location has a relatively small down payment, with a payment plan, so we can order them as soon as we get even a few donations :D
The full price of the ankle and foot braces are over $800, but with a payment plan in place, we would have no trouble funding the rest of the cost, over the course of the year. Anything that you, our friends, can or want to contribute to this will help greatly, and %100 will go towards her medical needs this year, however much is raised. (There are a couple other medical needs that she'll have later in the year, but these orthotics are the most important and most expensive!)
