Lil' Woody's Funeral Expenses

Don protégé
Woodrow Finley Partee Savage was born on 5/31/2012. There are not enough words to describe how incredibly special he was. To know him was to love him. Lil' Woody's story starts when his mom, Julie and his dad, Woody found out they were expecting! Excitement soon turned to concern as Julie's pregnancy progressed. Sonograms showed his growth was not normal around five months pregnant and they feared he had broken his femur and both bones in one arm; the doctors feared he would be born with brittle bone disease. Futher testing led to a diagnosis of Kniest Dysplasia, which is a type of dwarfism.  Julie and Woody were unsure of how long their baby would live after birth. He was born by c-section on May 31st, 2012 with no complications and no broken bones.  He needed to stay at the hospital due to his medical needs. At two months old Lil' Woody  aspirated which set him into pulminary failure (lung failure). This event is what caused him to require a tracheaostomy and ventillator to breathe. Soon after a g-tube was required to feed him, due to loss of suction because of cleft pallet. Lil' Woody stayed in the hospital for 9 months after birth where his parents learned more about his extensive medical needs. He was diagnosed with scoliosis, kyphoscoliosis, glaucoma, asthma, hearing loss, chronic pulminary hypertension, as well as skeltal issues due to his dwarfism. All of these caused him to experience significant pain throughout his life. In spite of the pain and obstacles he overcame by working hard with his Mom and Dad, family, nurses, Great Grandpa Woody and therapists and continued to keep a happy and playful attitude.
Lil' Woody was able to work hard to be able to reach several milestones. He was able to sit up on his own, stand with assistance and he was able to scoot on his butt all around the house to get to what he wanted to see. He loved being outside! He was able to go on lots of adventures with family and friends. He was able to see many things in his short time with us, the aquarium, the beach, lots of parks, the State fair, the pumpkin patch. He was able to celebrate holidays with his loved ones, he spent the Fourth of July watching the fireworks with his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. He loved to swing and swim. He made friends with every person who had the chance to meet him. He even made friends with people all over the world, especially Little People like him! His family wanted him to be able to experience life just like every other little boy.
Lil' Woody was truly loved and celebrated every day he was here with us. You could always find him in the arms of a loved one or a stranger smiling and dancing and enjoying every moment. He touched so many lives in such a positive way with his happy demeanor.
Lil' Woody's latest milestones include going to school and learning to play with his classmates. He was working hard in therapy where he was able to use a specialized walker to walk 50 feet! He was able to eat the food he liked and hang out in the kitchen getting into everything he could reach.  His health had been good for the last two years and his Mom and Dad were so excited about the milestones to come.
Lil' Woody's passing came so very unexpectedly to his Mom and Dad as well as, his family. One minute Lil' Woody was getting ready to have breakfast with his Dad and the next he was not breathing and unresponsive. Lil' Woody fought hard but he was called home 15 hours later. The doctors tested him and found that he was affected by enterovirus and rhinovirus.
We are hoping to raise funds for the celebration of Lil' Woody's life. We were blessed with his precious presence for four and a half wonderful yet all too short years. He is now on a new journey in Heaven.
Due to the unexpected passing of Lil' Woody his parents are not prepared for the expense of cremation and final arrangements. Please help them and their family to keep a piece of this beautiful little boy and to celebrate the four and a half years of Lil' Woody that anyone could have asked for.

Please help Lil' Woody's parents and family say their goodbyes to him without the added burden of finances through these dark days they were not prepared for.

Lil' Woody's family could use all the love and prayers to get through this incredibly hard time.
