Light Up Gilbert Gordon Oval

Woodend Hesket Football Netball Club is based in the heart of the Woodend Township at the iconic Gilbert Gordon Oval.
The Macedon Ranges Shire Council have determined that it is time to upgrade the power source to the Oval and bring the lighting to the oval up to AFL Country Football standards. They will also be lighting up the Netball court which is currently in darkness.
There will also be street lighting surrounding the oval in order to light up the roadway so the whole community can use the oval and surrounds for other sporting activities, etc.
The power to the Clubrooms will also be upgraded so that our tireless volunteers can cook the members meals, have the heating and lighting on and run the amazing new lighting on the oval, netball court and surrounds.
In order to fund this amazing upgrade, the Macedon Ranges Shire have sourced funding of $205,000.
The State Government of Victoria will provide funding of $100,000.
The Shire have requested that the Woodend Hesket Football Netball Club contribute $70,000 to the project.
It should be noted that these facilities are not for the sole use of the WHFNC but also the Woodend Cricket Club, the Woodend Junior Football Club, Woodend Masters Football Club, Macedon Ranges Running Group and many other sporting/social groups.
This is a huge project which will benefit all members of our community and also future members of our community. This is not for the sole benefit of WHFNC but the Club is more than willing to take on this project for the improvement of the sporting facilities for our township.
The Chairman of the Gilbert Gordon Social Club - Eddie Tunn is the head of the Fundraising Committee and would truly appreciate any donation that you would like to make towards our goal of $70,000.
