Light the Butte!

The Butte Theater is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit corporation that supports professional theater and community events at the historic Butte Theater in Cripple Creek, CO. Our mission is to be an economically viable and sustainable organization that creates unique theatrical experiences through the preservation of classic melodrama, the presentation of original and traditional works, and the education of our youth in Teller County, Colorado.

Our lights are dimming! With over 160 professional performances this year, our ancient lighting system has taken a real toll. And, because it's so ancient, it's going to be expensive to replace!

Our estimated costs for replacing our system  is a whopping $80,000. This money will go towards a new dimmer rack, and to replace half of our incandescent lights with LED lighting, as well as all electrical work and installation fees. The replacements will not only stop the pesky flickering light issue we've been experience this season, but put our lighting system on par with other professional setups in the country.The City of Cripple Creek has generously offered to cover $30,000. Now we need to raise the rest! 

Because the City's compensation is an AFR that expires at the end of the year, we have just 5 months to cover our share! We need your help!
