Life-Saving Surgery for Arianne

Arianne was born with Congenital Heart Disease-Ventricular Septal Defect (CHD-VSD). Her family and doctors did not know at first that she had a heart condition. Her pediatrician thought it was jaundice since she had a slight yellowish color. Also, a heart murmur was detected but we were told that it could disappear later on. A few weeks have passed and it was evident that there was something wrong with her. She cannot take in milk, cries a lot and sometimes turns blue. Her family did not have the financial resources to have the needed open-heart surgery and relied on medications instead. With God's grace she grew up living a normal and happy life despite her heart condition.
Everything changed a few weeks ago. It started as a mild headache which we thought was just a migraine since it runs in the family. Pain medications only had minimum effect. Then she started to have convulsions and we took her to the ER. The MRI showed a lesion in her brain - causing an infection and abscess that needed to be drained quickly. We agreed to have the operation done immediately to save her life and worry about paying for it later. The neurologist attributed this infection to her pre-existing heart condition. She no longer can wait to have her open-heart surgery. Our faith in God and the support of family and friends kept us strong. We know we will get through this.
