Hi all,
I've started this gofundme page to help support my sister through this rough patch of time. She has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her bones. This has been a huge surprise to us all as she has just turned 30 and is very health conscious. She is the most stubborn person I have ever met and I know she can beat this!!!! Bone cancer is unfortunately very painful and debilitating. As such she has to take some time off of work to heal ( and attend appointments). We are very optimistic that radiation treatment complimented with some alternative treatments will get her back to good in no time.
Currently she is waiting to get in for genetic testing to see if she has mutations in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene. The results from this will give the oncologists more insight on how to treat the cancer but currently radiation and hormone therapy are the treatment plans.
Any funds will be used to help my family help her via travelling to BC ( as she cannot travel) and we all live in Ontario. Funds would also be used to help her maintain her lifestyle ( staying in her apartment, eating healthy foods), and covering any alternative medicinal costs that are not covered.
