Lifeline - No Phone Left Unanswered
There are 150,000 calls to Lifeline that go unanswered every year.
150,000 who in the depths of that monumental and unwanted journey have pulled the final lever to find it does nothing.
150,000 cries of desperation heard only by the clicks, whirs, and beeps of a prerecording.
150,000 last hopes felt but never spoken.
By the time polls close on the 18th May, Australia will have decided on a new Prime Minister.
Whatever the outcome, let us have also decided that for each one of us, should we wobble on the tightrope of life, there will always be hope at end of the line.
We have 18 days.
