Leo's Surgery & Bladder Disease

Donation protected

My name is Wendy and I'm a single mom with a 12 year old son.  We have one cat who we adore with all of our hearts named "Leo".  He is only 3 years old and we are raising money for 2 Urinary Blocks (which result in death if he isn't catheterized and unblocked), 1 "PU Surgery" (which essentially widens the urethra so that he doesn't get blockages anymore), and the repeated visits to the Vet for the Bladder Disease that he will endure for the rest of his natural life.

Since February 2016, our Leo spent two full weeks in Emergency care with 2 painful urinary blockages and then the PU Surgery required to prevent these dangerous emergencies in the future.  The cost to save his life was about $4,500 for us.  After bringing him home he has had two bladder infections related to the Cystitis/Bladder Disease which required all of the rest of our savings for multiple Vet visits and additional medical care.  He needs a prescription diet for life and regular visits to prevent and treat infections, as well.

Unfortunately, my landlord is selling our building and we have to move.  The funds I had saved for years to move into a slightly better apartment are gone now.

...But we still have to move because our lease has been month-to-month for 5 years now and she plans to raise the rent to a price we cannot afford.  The funds will be used to continue Leo's care after Surgery as well as pay off the Surgery, the Emergency Blockage visits, and hopefully at least gain back enough for my son and I to afford a security deposit at a new apartment.

We have to pay off the Veterinary Bills very fast because of the high cost of Leo's care, but we also have to move in the next 4-6 weeks and we haven't even found a place we can afford yet.  Saving Leo's life meant everything to us and we just couldn't let him die, so I had to make a tough choice.  Unfortunately, it came at a time where our landlord decided making more money meant more to her than keeping good tenants.

Anything you can donate will help to pay off Leo's Veterinary Bills and allow me to continue his treatments, medications, and special diet.  Since he's so young, he has a long life ahead of him and he is my son's "best buddy" and my best friend as well.  Leo is a sweet, loving, rather clumsy kitty that we rescued.  He falls a lot because he had two broken areas in his tail when we rescued him.  Even after all Leo has gone through, he's never "raised a claw" to anyone and losing him would be losing a member of our *small*,but close family.  My son and I would deeply appreciate any and all donations as they will help us afford to keep Leo healthy and hopefully live a long life.

Thank you so much for taking time to read our story, even if you decide not to donate.  My son and I appreciate your taking time our of your lives to care about the struggles of others.
