Life After MS For Jennifer

Donation protected
Maybe you know Jennifer as your favorite Applebee's bartender, or have worked along side of her at some point during her 23 years of service there. Maybe you know her as a fellow South Allegheny alumni or through the many sports and activities that her children are involved in, still in the SA area. So let me tell you a little about why my best friend Jennifer needs help...  After about a year of multiple heath issues, misdiagnoses, many doctors and so many tests, they finally diagnosed her with MS about a year ago. If that wasn't enough, she then had to fight with her insurance company for months to approve medication and treatment, and they still haven't fond medication that actually helps yet. Recently, they found a lesion covering the entire left side of her brain and her doctor was surprised that she could even walk with such a large lesion. But any of you that know our Jennifer, knows that she is a tough cookie and stubborn as heck. In fact, she is probably going to be mad at me for even creating this page for her. The Jennifer I know and love today is a very different Jennifer than the woman I've known for over 20 years. She has probably lost about 50 pounds, her beautiful thick red hair is thinning to almost nothing and struggles to even do the bare necessities of what we all take for granted. Somehow, despite being beyond exhausted and in constant pain, she still attempts to work when she can to support her two kids. She didn't even have it in her to even put up a Christmas tree this year! It breaks my heart to see her struggling this way. She has started the process of trying to get disability, but that could take years and possibly retaining a lawyer. Before her illness she was one of the most vibrant, outgoing and generous people I have ever known. When i went through a terrible divorce, she helped by watching my children for years so I could go to work. Now its my turn to try to help her. She has touched the lives of so many with her witty (sometimes crazy ha ha) sense of humor, compassion, loyalty and generosity. Please help me help our Jenny and her family!! Thank you so much for any help that you could give.
