Life After Burns: Row, Run, and Climb to Support

Nearly 3 years ago I enrolled in a massage class for burn scars with Kate Peck, LMT.  Kate is an amazing therapist and pioneer in the medical community, using various forms of manual therapy to provide pain management and improve quality of life for burn survivors.  She created a foundation called the Massage And Burn Scar Therapy Foundation (MABSTF) in hopes of helping more people affected by burn injuries.  Kate is an extraordinary human and absolute inspiration.  Also inspiring are the courageous survivors she treats.  I have had the good fortune to work with some of them through Kate's training program and have witnessed the benefits first hand. I leave every session moved and wanting to do more.  Unfortunately, the demands of my current practice limit my availability to help this great cause so I am looking to help in another way - by raising funds and awareness to this program.

On July 16th my favorite training partner/brother Peter and I will embark on a triathalon of sorts to raise money for MABSTF.  We will begin with a 10K erg row followed by a 10K run that will end at Harvard Stadium where we will climb up every stair in all 37 sections. It will be a challenge in the summer heat but nothing compared to the challenges of the people we aim to help.
