Liberty’s Orthopedic Surgery

Donation protected
As many of you know, Liberty has had a tough year. New Year’s Eve day I noticed she was severely favoring her rear left leg. Day after New Years we visited Dr. Kwasnik and she apparently tore her ACL and also has a luxating patella in her left leg.  He wanted her back today for xrays. Well turns out it’s a bit more complicated. Its clear tho that she’s definitely in need of surgery.

Lib’s bones are not straight, so instead of doing an ACL replacement which will tear again, Dr. Kwasnik is correcting her bones and where the knee cap ligament attaches so that the ACL is not needed. She will have two bone cuts and will be corrected with a plate, screws and pins. Her Recovery is 6-8 weeks.

Doc strongly feels she will be 110% after all is said and done and that she’s got a lot of years left in her! She’s one tough cookie, she’s had a rough life thus far and I’m not giving up on her - she’s had my heart for 6 1/2 years and I can’t see not giving her Anything but the best care possible! She’s scheduled for January 24th, and I need some help to fund the total cost of her corrective surgery

I want to thank each and every one of you in advance for any contribution you can spare.
