Liberia Society of Women Engineers

Donation protected
With help from the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at the University of Michigan, female engineering students at several universities in Liberia have formed their own SWE section - Liberia Society of Women Engineers (L-SWE).

In August 2015 and 2016, L-SWE and SWE at UM hosted a two-week leadership camp titled L-SWE SUCCESS (Setting Up Collegiates for Careers in Engineering through Social Support) in Liberia.  10 UM students and about 30 Liberian students attended the camp each year. The purpose of this camp is two-fold:
- to empower Liberian and U.S. women engineers with the skills, support and inspiration necessary to become successful and well-rounded engineering professionals
- to strengthen the community of female engineers in Liberia by building cross-cultural partnerships among female engineering students, ultimately strengthening the global network of women engineers.

Your money will go to the continuation of the effors of L-SWE including a third annual leadership camp to take place in summer 2017, purchase of student office space for L-SWE leadership, and continued outreach activities in Liberia by L-SWE.

Any contributions are greatly appreciated - all funds will be used to support the growth and development of the inspiring women engineers in Liberia. Please feel free to read more on our blog.
